TAMPA, FL – Shumaker, Loop & Kendrick, LLP, is pleased to announce that Jason A. Smith, associate in the Tampa office, will be speaking at a meeting of the Sarasota Manatee Area Manufacturers on October 15, 2014 in Lakewood Ranch, Florida.  The topic for the meeting is “Protecting Intellectual Property in a Global Market.”

Jason is a Registered Patent Attorney and concentrates his practice in the areas of patent application preparation and prosecution.  Jason’s primary focus is on biotechnology, the chemical arts, and materials science.

Jason received his J.D. from the University of Florida Levin College of Law, his B.S. in Biology, summa cum laude, from Pfeiffer University, his M.S. in Biological Sciences, Molecular Genetics, from the University of South Carolina, and is a Ph.D. candidate in Biological Sciences, Molecular Genetics, from the University of South Carolina.
