Shumaker, Loop & Kendrick Attorneys Speak at HCBA Corporate Counsel Section Luncheon

TAMPA, FL – The law firm of Shumaker, Loop & Kendrick, LLP is pleased to announce that Tampa partners Mindi Richter and Todd Timmerman spoke at the Hillsborough County Bar Association’s Corporate Counsel Section Luncheon and CLE on January 7, 2016 at Chester E. Ferguson Law Center on “Intellectual Property Pitfalls for Corporate Counsel.”

Mindi is certified as an Intellectual Property Law Specialist by The Florida Bar Board of Legal Specialization and Education.  She has counseled clients in the areas of trademark selection, registration and protection, as well as trade secrets, copyright, patent, and internet matters. Mindi has experience in litigating intellectual property matters of all types, both in the United States Patent and Trademark Office as well as in state and federal courts across the country. Guiding clients in negotiating, developing and drafting licenses, assignments and other intellectual property contracts is another area of her experience.  Mindi received her J.D., magna cum laude, from Loyola University Chicago School of Law and her B.A. in Journalism from Indiana University.

Todd is certified as an Intellectual Property Law Specialist by The Florida Bar Board of Legal Specialization and Education and co-chairs the firm's Intellectual Property Law Practice Group.  Todd is a business lawyer, specializing in intellectual property protection and is AV® Peer Review Rated by Martindale-Hubbell.  Todd's practice spans a wide range of intellectual property and technology-related litigation and transactional matters for the firm's clients.  He maintains an extensive intellectual property law practice, specializing in intellectual property and technology counseling and litigation, assisting clients in crafting sound intellectual property protection and enforcement strategies so they may secure and maximize the value of their critical intellectual property assets.  Todd also handles trademark and copyright registration matters and intellectual property and technology licensing, transfer, and other business transactions.  Todd received his J.D., with honors, from the University of Florida in 1992, and his A.B. from Dartmouth College in 1989.
