TAMPA, FL – Attorneys Duane A. Daiker and Michele Leo Hintson presented at the 27th Annual Northeast Surety & Fidelity Claims Conference held September 21-23, 2016 at the Tropicana Casino and Resort in Atlantic City. Shumaker is a co-founder and sponsor of this annual conference.
Duane A. Daiker, partner, co-presenter with James Rumpf of Liberty Mutual Surety, presented “Mediation for the Surety.” Michele Leo Hintson, partner, co-presented “Facing the Department of Labor: A Primer on Prevailing Wage Laws and Their Impact on Sureties,” with Kourtni Mason of The Gray Casualty & Surety Company.
Duane represents individual and corporate clients in a variety of appellate matters in state and federal court. He is Board Certified by the Florida Bar as an Appellate Practice Specialist, and leads the firm’s appellate practice group. Duane also represents surety companies in connection with payment, performance, and fiduciary bond disputes throughout the State of Florida. In addition to his full-time law practice, Duane serves as an Adjunct Professor at St. Petersburg College, teaching classes in law, legal research, and writing. He received his J.D., with high honors, from the University of Florida, and his B.A., with high honors, from the University of Florida.
Michele dedicates her practice to representing businesses, insurance companies, health care organizations and individuals in all aspects of the dispute resolution process, including, performing pre-suit investigations and risk management analysis, attending mediation sessions, drafting pleadings, motions, and briefs, conducting depositions, and advocating for clients at hearings, trials, and arbitrations. She is also a Florida Supreme Court Certified Circuit Court Mediator. Michele received her J.D., cum laude, from Stetson University College of Law and her B.A. from the University of Central Florida.
