Ernie Marquart Appointed to Board of Trustees of The Academy of the Holy Names

TAMPA, FL – The law firm of Shumaker, Loop & Kendrick, LLP, is pleased to announce that Tampa partner, Ernie Marquart, has been appointed to a three year term on the Board of Trustees of the Academy of the Holy Names.   The Academy of the Holy Names is an independent, Catholic, coeducational elementary school and a college preparatory high school for young women, sponsored by the Sisters of the Holy Names of Jesus and Mary.  The Academy is open to families of all faiths and backgrounds who share the school’s mission and values.

Ernie’s practice focuses on business litigation and he has extensive experience representing public and private corporations, partnerships, and individuals in state and federal courts at both the trial and appellate levels.  He also has represented clients before the American Arbitration Association, governmental agencies, and in administrative proceedings. Ernie has regularly represented clients in a variety of cases involving commercial contracts; construction projects; real estate, health care management, and franchise matters; securities and shareholder disputes; and transportation, environmental, and intellectual property issues. He also has substantial experience representing creditors in federal bankruptcy courts. 

Ernie has practiced business litigation with Shumaker for 25 years, and has served as Tampa office managing partner and as a member of the firm’s management committee.  He received his J.D., with honors, from the University of Florida in 1991 and his B.A., magna cum laude, from Boston University in 1986.
