SARASOTA, FL – The law firm of Shumaker, Loop & Kendrick, LLP is pleased to announce that Ryan S. Nichols, an associate in our Sarasota office, has been certified by the Florida Supreme Court as a Certified Circuit Civil Mediator.  Ryan will be mediating state and federal civil disputes throughout Florida.

Ryan is in the Broker-Dealer Litigation Practice Group, a team of attorneys who represent large financial institutions and high net-worth individuals in securities litigation and violations of contractual covenants.  His practice also focuses on broker-dealer recruitment, wrongful termination and Form U-5 issues, “raiding” litigation, employment law, restrictive covenants, trade secrets, commercial litigation, and arbitration before the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA). 

Ryan was previously an Assistant State Attorney for the Sixth Judicial Circuit of Florida, supervising the prosecution of over 1200 cases and trying over 50 felony and misdemeanor jury trials to include kidnapping and attempted murder. 

Ryan received his J.D. from Stetson University and his B.A. from Tulane University.
