CHARLOTTE, NC – The law firm of Shumaker, Loop & Kendrick, LLP, is pleased to announce that Steven A. Meckler has been named Managing Partner of the Charlotte office and elected Member of the firm wide Management Committee, succeeding Scott M. Stevenson.  Scott served as Managing Partner for the last six years.

Steve’s practice focuses primarily on representing corporations with respect to complex business, product liability, construction and real property litigation.  He is licensed in North and South Carolina and practices in both the state and federal courts.  Steve also has extensive experience in representing clients in a variety of administrative actions with various state agencies.

His representative clients include large manufacturers, national development corporations, educational institutions and a wide array of other business ventures.

Steve is an active Rotarian and currently serves on the Executive Board of the Make-A-Wish Foundation for Central and Western North Carolina.   Steve also chaired the Mecklenburg County Civil Superior Courts Committee that re-wrote the 26th Judicial District Superior Court Division Civil Rules.   Steve is a graduate of the FBI Citizen's Academy.
