TAMPA, FL –– Shumaker, Loop & Kendrick, LLP is pleased to announce that Tampa partner Duane A. Daiker has been appointed to the Florida Bar’s Appellate Practice Certification Standing Committee. Daiker will serve on the committee for the 2018-19 bar year.
The Committee is responsible for the evaluation of the competency, experience, and professionalism of attorneys seeking board certification in the area of appellate practice.
Daiker has been board certified by The Florida Bar as an Appellate Practice Specialist since 2007. His appellate practice extends to all state and federal appellate courts in Florida, including the Florida Supreme Court. Daiker was first elected to the Executive Council of the Appellate Practice Section of The Florida Bar in 2012, and served in numerous leadership roles before becoming chair. He also served as a member of the Appellate Court Rules Committee from 2012 to 2018.
Daiker also represents surety companies in connection with payment, performance, and fiduciary bond disputes throughout the State of Florida. His surety practice encompasses all aspects of suretyship, from initial claim evaluation to claim litigation and recovery. Daiker previously served on the Editorial Board of the Fidelity and Surety Digest published by the American Bar Association, and is a regular presenter at surety conferences around the country.
Daiker has served as an Adjunct Professor at St. Petersburg College, teaching classes in law, legal research and legal writing, since 2000. Daiker is certified by the Supreme Court of Florida as an arbitrator, and regularly arbitrates attorney fee disputes for The Florida Bar Association.
