CHARLOTTE, NC – The law firm of Shumaker, Loop & Kendrick, LLP is pleased to announce that Lucas D. Garber has joined the Charlotte office as an associate attorney.

Lucas D. Garber's practice focuses on commercial litigation including claims involving business torts, products liability, breach of contract, trademark and copyright disputes, construction disputes, and employment claims involving covenants not to compete, non-solicitation agreements, and trade secrets. He is licensed to practice in all state and federal courts in North Carolina.

Lucas has significant litigation experience including jury and bench trials to verdict in North Carolina Superior Court, arguing and drafting briefs for dispositive motions, representing clients in arbitration and mediation proceedings, and conducting and defending depositions. He also has experience representing clients in land use and zoning disputes.

Lucas is a native Charlottean and has significant ties to the local community. He attended the University of South Carolina for his undergraduate studies where he majored in Corporate Finance and graduated magna cum laude. After his undergraduate studies, Lucas graduated from Wake Forest University School of Law. While in law school, he served as Executive Editor of the Wake Forest Law Review and clerked for the Honorable Frank Whitney, United States Chief District Court Judge for the Western District of North Carolina.
