TAMPA, FL – Shumaker, Loop & Kendrick, LLP is pleased to announce that Tampa Partner Jonathan Ellis was honored by the Tampa Bay American Inn of Court with the Abraham Lincoln Award, based on the vote of the Inn’s Benchers (Judges) and Masters (Senior Lawyers). The annual award recognizes a member of the Tampa Bay American Inn of Court who exemplifies the organization’s mission to promote legal excellence, civility, professionalism, and ethics in the practice of law.  Jonathan was recognized for his substantial contribution and service to the organization.

With a focus on the complex areas of community associations law (Condo and HOA), Jonathan’s clients turn to him for his experience. He represents associations from general collections and enforcement of covenants to revitalizations of convents and general corporate matters. His litigation experience ranges from foreclosure of liens, even through bankruptcy, to defending the Association’s officers and directors when sued. The foundation of his practice stems from the fact he is president of his own homeowners association and he can relate to the issues his clients are facing.
