SARASOTA, FL – Shumaker, Loop & Kendrick, LLP is pleased to announce that Sarasota managing partner, Jennifer B. Compton, was honored by Girls Inc. of Sarasota County as the recipient of the Visionary Award at their 31st Annual Celebration Luncheon held on Tuesday, April 30, 2019 at the Sarasota Municipal Auditorium. Jennifer is one of the inspirational role models from within the community that Girls Inc. wished to recognize at this year’s event.
A long-time volunteer for, and champion for Girls Inc., Jennifer served in many roles, including as a long-time board member, chair, past chair, and member of numerous committees. Jennifer is also a lifelong Sarasota resident and is very involved in the Sarasota community. She has volunteered her time with a number of organizations, including Sarasota County Bar Association, All Faiths Food Bank, and the Greater Sarasota Chamber of Commerce. She is particularly proud of her involvement as secretary, executive committee member, and board member for the Sarasota Bayfront Planning Organization, now the Bay Park Conservancy, which has been working for over two years on the design and implementation of a master plan to transform 53 acres of City-owned land on Sarasota’s bayfront into a signature urban park for the entire community.
