Shumaker Announces Participation in Mayor’s Youth Employment Program

CHARLOTTE, NC – Shumaker, Loop & Kendrick, LLP is pleased to share that Charlotte Managing Partner Steve Meckler has announced their participation in the City of Charlotte Mayor’s Youth Employment Program (MYEP).

The MYEP is a six-week summer internship and job placement program managed by the City of Charlotte’s Housing & Neighborhood Services Youth Programs Division. Their mission is to provide all Charlotte youth with equitable career development opportunities to explore the world of work, build social capital, and enhance economic mobility. To accomplish this mission, the MYEP works closely with Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools and other community partners to identify and train eligible students who are 16 and older for paid summer work experiences with host employers across the Charlotte-Mecklenburg area.

Shumaker looks forward to hosting their student beginning on June 17th. “We want this to be a positive experience for our student. Our goal is to provide insight on what work in a professional office is like,” said Meckler.
