Patrick "Colin" Rice Joins Shumaker

TAMPA, FL – Shumaker, Loop & Kendrick, LLP is pleased to announce Patrick “Colin” Rice has joined the Tampa office as an associate in the Real Estate and Land Use and Zoning practice group.

Colin’s growing real estate and land use practice encompasses a wide variety of experience after having spent five years as an Assistant City Attorney for the City of Tampa. In this capacity, Colin represented the Planning, Design & Development Coordination Division, including before Tampa City Council on rezoning and special use applications. He served as counsel for the City of Tampa Neighborhood Enhancement Division and prosecuted code enforcement cases in administrative, civil, and quasi-criminal proceedings, including litigation and appellate review. Colin also assisted in drafting legislation and responding to legal inquiries from City Council. He is eager and able to assist clients interfacing with local governments, and has a track record of helping reach mutually beneficial resolutions to disputes or approvals.
