TOLEDO, OH –Shumaker Advisors, LLC announced today the expansion of its team with the arrival of Derek N. Harley who brings with him more than two decades of experience in the United States Congress. Derek will serve as Shumaker Advisors’ Senior Vice President of Federal Affairs where he will spearhead Shumaker’s efforts in Washington, D.C., and bridge the gap between clients and the federal government.

Derek’s addition to the Shumaker team adds another important element to their already successful and growing government relations practice. Derek will be an on-the-ground resource in Washington for Shumaker clients, helping represent them in the U.S. Congress and with federal agencies in an increasingly complex regulatory and legislative environment.

Most recently, Derek was the chief of staff for Ohio Congressman Brad Wenstrup, a member of the House Ways and Means Committee. In addition, he served for more than six years as the chief of staff to another Ways and Means member, California Congressman Wally Herger.
