TOLEDO, OH – Shumaker, Loop & Kendrick, LLP is pleased to announce that John “Jack” P. Kelly has joined the Toledo office as an associate in the Trusts and Estates practice group.

Jack works with families and individuals focusing his practice in the areas of estate planning, tax planning, business succession planning, and estate and trust administration. Always looking out for the clients’ best interests, Jack crafts and amends estate plans tailored to the clients’ family circumstances, professional interests, and philanthropic goals.

After spending five years as a teacher, coach, and campus minister, Jack’s love of learning led him to law school. Jack’s vocation as an estate planner was a natural fit given his passion for family and community. He draws on his classroom experience to help clients understand complicated legal matters and embrace their plans for the future.

A native of Toledo, Jack attended Marquette University where he majored in Political Science and Theology. He then served as a middle school teacher in Washington, D.C. as a part of the University of Notre Dame’s Alliance for Catholic Education program. Jack received his law degree from Indiana University Maurer School of Law, where he was the managing editor for the Indiana Law Journal.
