The Hillsborough County Human Relations Board reviews complaints filed under Hillsborough County's Human Rights Ordinance, which promotes fair treatment and equal opportunity for people regardless of race, religion, color, sex, national origin, age, disability, marital status, sexual orientation, and gender identification or expression.

As a double-certified mediator (both circuit civil and appellate), Matt brings robust dispute resolution skill and experience to Hillsborough County’s Human Relations Board. At Shumaker, Matt guides clients through diverse complex land use and zoning challenges, structures creative legal strategies for both new and growing businesses, and has resolved legal disputes through both traditional litigation and alternative strategies.
