Shumaker Proud to Support the Outback Bowl

TAMPA, FL – The law firm of Shumaker, Loop & Kendrick, LLP was pleased to again participate as a sponsor of the Outback Bowl at Raymond James Stadium on January 1st.  Shumaker partner Todd Timmerman served as the Immediate Past-Chair for the 2020 game, and partner Mindi Richter served as a member of the Team Selection Committee for the Bowl. The exciting matchup came down to the wire and featured the Minnesota Golden Gophers edging the Auburn Tigers 31-24 to cap an 11-win season. It was the Minnesota’s first appearance in the Bowl.  Timmerman commented “Shumaker was very happy with the outstanding matchup and high quality of the game. We are so pleased to continue our long-standing association with the Bowl.”  The Outback Bowl was ranked the 5th best bowl game of the year (out of 40 bowls) by College Football News and is the most watched annual sporting event in the region.

For nearly 35 years the Outback Bowl has made a positive impact on the Tampa Bay region and college football. Over its history, the 501(c)(3) organization has contributed $155 million to universities and generated an economic impact estimated at over $1 billion for the Tampa Bay area.  The Outback Bowl generates millions of dollars in national and international exposure for the region each year and since 2016 the bowl has donated over $1.5 Million to more than 100 Tampa Bay area charities.  In fact the biggest winner each year is the Tampa Bay community.
