The law firm of Shumaker, Loop & Kendrick, LLP, is pleased to announce that Sarasota Partner, Mike Pitchford, has been elected to the Board of Directors of the Southwest Florida Chapter of the American Red Cross. The Southwest Chapter serves Sarasota, Charlotte, Manatee and Hardee Counties in its mission to prevent and alleviate human suffering in the face of emergencies by mobilizing the power of volunteers. Every day, almost 30,000 people receive assistance from the American Red Cross and every 8 minutes Red Cross workers help a family affected by a home fire or other disaster. In addition to serving those impacted by an emergency or disaster, the American Red Cross provides nearly 1,100 services each day to members of the U.S. military, veterans and their families, helping them prepare for, cope with and respond to the unique challenges of military life. 

Mike is a member of the firm’s Real Estate, Financial Institutions, and Financial Services practice groups and, in addition to being a member of the Florida Bar, is enrolled as a Solicitor with the Law Society of England and Wales.
