Brett Henson Appointed Division One's Liaison to the Technology Committee for the American Bar Association’s Forum on Construction Law

SARASOTA, FL – Sarasota lawyer Brett Henson has been appointed as the Technology Committee Liaison for Division 1: Litigation and Dispute Resolution of the American Bar Association’s Forum on Construction law. Members of the Forum represent all segments of the construction industry, including owners, design professionals, general contractors, construction managers, subcontractors, suppliers, insurers and sureties. The Forum’s mission is to serve the construction industry through education and leadership while building the best construction lawyers. Division 1 focuses on advocacy skills of construction lawyers in trials, arbitrations and mediations, and in developing innovative ADR strategies and procedures to efficiently resolve construction disputes.

Brett is Board Certified by the Florida Bar in Construction Law and devotes a substantial portion of his practice to handling all types of construction disputes, including claims related to breach of contract, delay damages, workmanship and design defects, fidelity and surety bonds, and Florida’s Construction Lien Law.  He counsels and assists construction industry professionals regarding dispute avoidance procedures, along with contract preparation, review, and negotiation. Brett also uses his experience and knowledge in resolving claims involving insurance proceeds and insurance coverage.

Brett received his J.D. and B.A. from Stetson University.
