TAMPA, FL – Tampa Partner Mark Connolly presented at the Florida Coalition for Children 2020 Virtual Conference on October 1, 2020. Mark partnered with April Rolle , Chief Legal Officer at Heartland for Children, to present “Best Practices for Child Welfare Risk Management.” The presentation outlined best practices to manage risk and avoid litigation and strategies when litigation is imminent. Mark and April also covered pitfalls and challenges that agencies face and how collaboration can reduce system risks. The goal of the presentation was to “illuminate the future” by sharing legal wisdom on legal trends, and facilitate a discussion of how to implement statewide practices to create a stronger system of care.

With more than 25 years of experience, Mark currently serves as general counsel to child welfare agencies in Southwest Florida.  Additionally, he has successfully represented small businesses, child welfare agencies, and health care providers in administrative and litigation matters, including credentialing, licensure, and enforcement of noncompetition agreements.  He is part of a team that successfully represented a nationally recognized medical facility in intellectual property litigation, and he led a team that prevailed in an arbitration for a physician against a national provider of dialysis services.

Mark is AV® Peer Review Rated by Martindale-Hubbell, and was named to Florida Super Lawyers in 2016 and 2015 and to Florida Trend magazine’s Legal Elite in 2011.  He received his J.D. from Stetson University College of Law, cum laude, and his B.S. from the University of Florida, with honors.
