Shumaker’s Moses Luski Deepens Roots in Arts Community Championing Diverse Artists

CHARLOTTE, NC – Furthering his influence in the Arts, Moses Luski, Shumaker Commercial Real Estate Partner, has been appointed to the Acquisitions Board of the Mint Museum of Craft and Design. “Art promotes understanding and gives joy. I am glad to share my art collection with my colleagues at Shumaker and the community at large,” said Moses.

As an Acquisition Board member, Moses advises the Mint Museum on the management of its world-renowned craft and design collection. Moses’ interest in craft and design, with a focus on studio glass, is influenced by his parent’s long-standing tradition of collecting in the area, resulting in their collection being featured at the Sonia and Isaac Luski Gallery at the Foundation for the Carolinas in Charlotte, NC. Moses has carried on the family tradition with previous roles, such as serving on the Board of Directors for the McColl Center for Visual Arts.

Separately, Moses has also focused on collecting contemporary art, specifically art by female artists and artists of color, as well as gender-fluid artists. His collection can be seen at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, Queens University, the Foundation for the Carolinas, Telfair Museum, Savannah Georgia, Museum of Art and Design, New York City, as well as Shumaker’s Charlotte office. Currently, Moses has lent artwork to Davidson College and the Mint Museum for exhibits centered around the pandemic.

Interestingly, Shumaker is a longtime patron of the Toledo Museum of Art which itself has a renowned collection of studio glass. Believing that the visual arts make us better and more capable individuals, all Shumaker offices take a deep interest in the display of fine art in the office, as well as supporting the visual arts in their respective communities.
