TAMPA, FL – National law firm Shumaker announced today that Michael Restrepo has joined the firms growing Community Associations legal team, making him the fourth new member of the group in 2021. Caley Aidif, Sean Bevil, and Sara Jawad also joined the firm’s Community Associations team earlier this year.

“We are excited about Michael joining our team. His enthusiasm and experience makes him a great addition to the firm!” said Partner and Community Associations Business Sector Chair Jonathan Ellis.

“Shumaker’s Community Associations legal team puts clients first! We continue to grow in order to serve our clients’ needs in the most efficient way possible,” said Partner Kathleen Reres. “Michael’s experience and commitment to his work will be a great asset to our clients and our team.”

Michael strives to provide condominiums and homeowners' associations with attentive and responsive representation. Through a client-focused approach, he works with his clients to secure swift and complete resolutions to their disputes. Michael focuses his practice on representing associations in collection and foreclosure cases, covenant enforcement, and bankruptcy and creditors' rights.

Prior to joining Shumaker, Michael previously provided legal representation to community associations throughout Pinellas and Pasco Counties.

Michael first became familiar with a courtroom while interning for the Honorable Judge Sarah Zabel in Miami-Dade County. Through his support of Judge Zabel, he was provided with a valuable exposure to the legal system. He would go on to work for the Veteran Affairs Office of General Counsel, where he provided legal representation to Veteran Affairs Employers in Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) discrimination cases and labor disputes.
