TOLEDO, OH – Shumaker Partner J. Douglas Miller was reappointed to The Northwestern Water & Sewer District (The District) Board of Trustees for a three-year term effective January 1, 2022.
Doug serves as the National Service Line Leader of the firm’s Intellectual Property and Technology Service Line. He is a registered professional engineer and registered patent attorney licensed in the State of Ohio and before the United States Patent and Trademark Office. Prior to practicing law, Doug worked as environmental manager and solvent recovery system manager for a chemical compounding facility, and a project engineer in the chemical process group of a global engineering consulting firm.
According to District President, Jerry Greiner, “The District appreciates Doug’s level of experience in knowing the science behind water and wastewater processes and his strong legal background. We know he will continue to apply his expertise as he makes important decisions representing the people of Wood County.”
The District is a regional water and sewer district chartered under Section 6119 of the Ohio Revised Code that serves over 20,000 water and sewer customers in Wood, Hancock, Henry, and Sandusky counties. The Board provides ongoing financial and strategic oversight to advance The District’s mission.
