TAMPA, FL – Widely recognized civil litigation lawyer, community advocate, corporate leader, and Shumaker Partner Andrew (Andy) J. Mayts, Jr. has been named Chair of the Tampa Bay Chamber (Chamber), where he will continue his work helping to accomplish the Chamber’s strategic goals. Andy has long served on the Chamber’s Board, most recently serving as Chair-Elect in 2021, Treasurer in 2020, as well as on the Chamber’s Policy Council.
The Tampa Bay Chamber is made up of a diverse group of local businesses ranging from big corporations, small businesses, government bodies, and the military. United, the Chamber is a single, unifying force with the power to shape the future of Tampa Bay.

Among his key strategic goals for 2022, Andy and the Chamber are committed to being a catalyst for pro-business policies at the local, state, and federal level and look forward to continuing the well-established working relationships with elected officials to advocate in a non-partisan way for Chamber members and policy priorities. Andy and the Chamber are also committed to working collaboratively with other local leaders in Pinellas, Pasco, and the surrounding counties of the region, joining together to tackle issues like transportation, for which solutions can only be crafted by looking through a regional lens.

Andy focuses his practice on banking, business and construction related litigation, as well as cybersecurity prevention and response. He handles complex civil litigation matters for businesses, including national banks in state and federal court in numerous trials.
Andy has received an AV® Preeminent rating by Martindale-Hubbell and has been named a Best Lawyer. He is a fellow in the Construction Lawyers Society of America and has been reappointed by the Governor to serve a second term on the Thirteenth Judicial Circuit Nominating Commission and the Children’s Board of Hillsborough County. He currently serves as chair of the Children’s Board.
