Shumaker Partners Named to Tampa Magazine's 2022 Top Lawyers List

TAMPA, FL – Shumaker Partners Maria Ramos and Greg Yadley have been named to Tampa Magazine’s 2022 Top Lawyers List. Maria, who has been honored for a distinguished sixth year in a row, was selected for immigration law. Greg, who was also selected for the 2019 and 2020 lists, was chosen for leveraged buyouts and private equity law.  

Tampa Magazine sent surveys to the nearly 8,000 attorneys practicing in Hillsborough and Southern Pasco counties to nominate the peers they believe stand out from the rest. Tampa Bay lawyers chose 192 of their peers from 79 practice areas as this year’s Top Lawyers. The 2022 Top Lawyers list is now available in the January 2022 Edition of Tampa Magazine.

Maria devotes a substantial portion of her practice to counseling clients on immigration and related employment issues. In particular, Maria has extensive experience helping employers obtain H-1B and E visas, as well employment-based green cards, on behalf of foreign workers employed in specialty occupations. She also helps companies that have global operations obtain L-1 visas on behalf of their foreign-based employees so they can transfer to the United States. In addition to helping employers obtain visas for foreign workers, Maria routinely conducts audits for clients to ensure they are complying with their obligation to verify their employees’ eligibility to work in the United States.

Greg is Shumaker’s Corporate, Tax and Transactions Regional Service Line Leader. Working across a broad range of industries and having handled complex transactions of all sizes, Greg brings a wealth of experience to his representation of business entities, including closely held and family businesses and large and small public companies, and nonprofit entities. Greg has extensive experience in securities matters, including advising clients with regard to their private and public offerings of securities (initial public offerings) and their ongoing disclosure obligations. Practicing for more than 40 years, Greg understands how to address the divergent needs of multiple parties and bring them together in a successful transaction.
