CHARLOTTE, NC – Shumaker Partner and Products Liability Litigator Steve Meckler was invited to assemble a panel for the International Association of Defense Counsel’s (IADC) Midyear Meeting on the topic of “Hit the Ground Running – The Importance of Early Internal Investigation of Product Claims,” where Steve will also serve as one of the panelists. The in-person meeting will be held in Scottsdale, Arizona on February 19-24, 2022, and the virtual meeting will take place on March 2-4, 2022.

Also serving as panelists with Steve include, Marisa B. Nye of Electrolux North America, Inc., and Andrew M. Rink of JELD-WEN, Inc. Their roundtable discussion will focus on the importance of jumping on the internal investigation as soon as a product liability claim arises. The panel will have experiential discussions from both an in-house and outside counsel perspective, such as pulling correspondence, testing, recalls, component manufacturers, potential expert reviews, prior product testing, and much more.

Steve is a member of Shumaker’s Management Committee and serves as the Charlotte and Greenville Managing Partner. Steve’s practice focuses primarily on representing corporations with respect to complex business, product liability, construction and real property litigation. He is licensed in North and South Carolina and practices in both the state and federal courts.
