TAMPA, FL – Shumaker’s Tampa office announced today the addition of Associates Andrew Ballentine, Julianne DeLeo, and Brittainy Joyner. Andrew joins as a member of the Finance, Banking, Creditors’ Rights and Insolvency Service Line, Brittainy is a member of the Community Associations Business Sector, and Julianne joins the firm’s Corporate, Tax and Transactions Service Line.
Clients turn to Andrew for his diverse experience in civil and commercial litigation, bankruptcy, and appellate cases. Andrew is focused on commercial litigation matters including contract and general business disputes, such as corporate and partnership disputes, and represents clients in a variety of complex bankruptcy matters, including the representation of debtors and unsecured, secured, and governmental creditors in Chapter 7, 13, and 11 bankruptcy cases, and related adversary proceedings. In addition, Andrew represents creditors on Unsecured Creditor Committees in large, complex chapter 11 bankruptcies.

Julianne’s practice focuses on mergers and acquisitions (M&A), as well as other general corporate matters. Julianne has experience representing buyers and sellers of all sizes, including those engaging add-on transactions and strategic acquisitions. She leverages her undergraduate business education to analyze the intricacies of business transactions, understand liabilities presented by a business’s stakeholders, and address legal matters that arise pre- and post-closing. Julianne has a passion for being part of a deal team in furtherance of her clients' objectives.

Brittainy focuses her practice on litigation and disputes for homeowners associations and has extensive experience in motion practice, depositions, mediations, arbitrations, and negotiations. Brittainy’s experience in the courtroom, paired with her passion to “get it right,” make her a strong advocate for her clients when handling their litigation matters, which has benefited her throughout her legal career as a commercial litigator and as a prosecutor.
