CHARLOTTE, NC – Shumaker is pleased to announce that Partner Daniel (Dan) R. Hansen has been certified as a North Carolina Superior Court Mediator; a certification that is required of all mediators participating in the Mediated Settlement Conference (MSC) Program, which is designed to offer parties, with the help of their attorneys and a mediator, the opportunity and support needed to settle their cases. In order to receive certification, applicants must meet threshold education and work experience requirements, as well as mediation training, observation, and good character requirements.

A diplomatic problem-solver, he devotes approximately 60 percent of his practice to surety and construction law and represents sureties, contractors, owners, and construction materials manufacturers, including window manufacturers in commercial and residential claims, both in federal and state courts throughout the Southeast.
