TOLEDO, OH – Shumaker lawyer Carol Sobczak has been elected to the Board of Directors for the Paws and Whiskers Cat Shelter in Toledo, Ohio. It is the only no-kill cat rescue in the region and has rescued and found homes for more than 14,000 cats since its inception in 1996. The shelter is governed by the Board of Directors, which is dedicated to providing a safe haven for unwanted cats.
“Toledo has a large population of stray cats, and animal shelters play a vital role in keeping them off the streets,” said Carol. “I am excited to join the Paws and Whiskers Board of Directors as this is a cause near and dear to my heart; I adopted my own cat from Paws and Whiskers in 2019.”
Paws and Whiskers Cat Shelter is a nonprofit that provides shelter, food, love, and veterinary care for the area's homeless, unwanted, and orphaned felines, while working to find them safe, loving homes.
