Shumaker’s Jade Davis Appointed to Two Committees Committed to Education in Construction Law

SARASOTA, FL – Shumaker lawyer Jade Davis has been appointed the Continuing Legal Education (CLE) Chair of the Florida Bar Real Property, Probate and Trust Law (RPPTL) Section's Construction Law Committee, and she has also been named Marketing Liaison of the American Bar Association's (ABA) Forum on Construction Law's Division 1 Steering Committee.

The Florida Bar RPPTL Section's Construction Law Committee is a statewide organization comprised of over 500 construction lawyers. It is committed to promoting the highest levels of knowledge, experience, and professionalism within the field of construction law. As Chair of the CLE Committee, Jade will be responsible for assuring the Committee is providing CLE seminars to section members while meeting the proficiency, educational, and professional/ethical skills necessary for furtherance of their practices and careers.

Jade was also recently selected as a 2022-2024 Fellow for RPPTL. As a Fellow, she will attend Executive Council meetings, serve as an active member of the Membership and Inclusion Committee, and contribute to the Section's publication, ActionLine.

As Marketing Liaison for the ABA Forum on Construction Law Division 1 Steering Committee, Jade will work with all construction industry segments to facilitate close working relationships, supporting the mission to serve the construction industry through education and leadership while building the best construction lawyers.

Jade focuses her practice on real estate, business, construction-related litigation, cybersecurity prevention, and response in the manufacturing, real estate, corporate, technology, and public sectors.

As a construction lawyer, she represents owners, subcontractors, suppliers, and general contractors in numerous defect and equitable adjustment claims. In addition, Jade serves on state and national construction law committees dedicated to improving legislation in the construction field and the professional development of construction lawyers. She also routinely litigates product liability matters on behalf of manufacturers, including manufacturers of building products.
