Shumaker’s Commitment to TBBCA Expands to Three Decades; Ashley B. Norus Elected to Board of Directors

TAMPA, FL – Shumaker lawyer and Tampa native Ashley B. Norus has been selected to sit on the Board of Directors of Tampa Bay Businesses for Culture and the Arts (TBBCA), continuing the long-standing relationship between the two organizations. TBBCA’s mission is to unite Tampa Bay businesses to champion arts and culture for a prosperous community. 

Ashley is one of several attorneys from Shumaker who have served on the TBBCA Board of Directors. Shumaker Partner Greg Yadley served as TBBCA president and chair beginning in 1993, sat on the executive committee, and was board director for well over two decades. Tampa Managing Partner Ron Christaldi also gave years of service as board president and director, and Partner Christopher Cavaliere just completed a three-year term on the board of directors. Greg and Ron are members of TBBCA Past Presidents’ Advisory Council, and both were honored with TBBCA Impact Awards, along with Shumaker Partner Julio Esquivel (2015 Impact Award Honoree).

“As a native of Tampa, I’m honored to be a part of Shumaker’s steadfast commitment to support TBBCA and the arts and cultural sector,” Ashley said. “Tampa is the city I call home, and I am focused on helping local businesses, artists, and supporting our diverse culture.”

Ashley is part of Shumaker’s Corporate, Tax and Transactions Service Line, where she focuses on general corporate law, mergers and acquisitions, and securities law. She has experience dealing with both public and private offerings, as well as advising clients on their day-to-day corporate needs. With her training from her undergraduate degree in public relations and a minor in communication, Ashley prides herself on her high level of interaction and commitment to her clients.

While at Stetson University College of Law, Ashley served on the Moot Court team and as a teaching assistant for both Torts Law and Commercial Transactions. She also served as a judicial intern for the Honorable Richard A. Nielsen.
