TAMPA, FL – Shumaker lawyers Elizabeth R. Brusa and Reinaldo R. Gomez de la Vega have been selected as two of only eight lawyers to serve a two-year term in the Florida Bar Business Law Section’s 2023 Fellowship Program. The Fellowship Program is designed to recruit diverse lawyers interested in taking on an active leadership role in the Florida Bar Business Law Section.

“It is such an honor to have two of our Shumaker lawyers selected as Fellows, and it is a testament to the firm’s depth of talent and leadership-driven lawyers, who are committed to making a difference in the legal profession,” said Tampa Managing Partner Ron Christaldi.

The Fellowship Program provides leadership training and mentorship, which is designed to assist the Fellows in becoming better leaders within the legal profession and the Business Law Section. As 2023 Fellows, Elizabeth and Reinaldo will work closely with the Business Law Section leadership, will participate in the quarterly Executive Council meetings, and will continue to be actively involved in a number of substantive committees.

Elizabeth is a member of Shumaker’s Finance, Banking, Creditors’ Rights and Insolvency Service Line, where she zealously represents her clients’ interests in Chapter 7, Chapter 13, Chapter 11, and Subchapter V bankruptcy cases and related adversary proceedings.
