Meghan O. Serrano of Shumaker Recognized as a Good Hero by SRQ Magazine

SARASOTA, FL — Shumaker Partner Meghan O. Serrano, Chair of the Board of Directors at Boys & Girls Club of Sarasota and DeSoto Counties, has been honored as a Good Hero by SRQ Magazine for her outstanding dedication and impactful contributions.

As Chair of the Board of Directors, Meghan's commitment transcends the boardroom. Her unwavering dedication extends through mentorship, legal counseling, financial support, and visionary leadership, shaping the trajectory of the Boys & Girls Club and profoundly impacting the Sarasota and DeSoto communities.

Her steadfast and effective leadership includes helping to design and implement the roll-out of COVID-19 procedures and creating a “Times of Crisis” operation manual. She acts as a mentor for Teen Club members and was in a direct mentoring role to the Perlman-Price Young Entrepreneurs Program. Meghan also secured funding to support grade-level reading programs across the six Clubs.

Meghan's leadership has been instrumental in fostering a culture of empowerment and guidance, uplifting individuals within the organization and beyond. Her tireless efforts have not only elevated the club's mission but have also inspired others to follow suit in creating positive change.

Also seen as a leader within Shumaker, Meghan is the Litigation and Disputes Regional Service Line Leader and Financial Institutions and Insurance Business Sector Co-Chair. She is board certified in business litigation by The Florida Bar and is considered an expert in her field, practicing in all phases of civil and business litigation.
