FLORIDA — Florida Trend Magazine has selected three Shumaker attorneys as 2023 Legal Elite Notable Women Leaders in Law. The nomination-based program is in its inaugural year and highlights outstanding attorneys in specific cross sections of the legal community.
The selected Shumaker attorneys include Jennifer B. Compton, Michele Leo Hintson, and Meghan O. Serrano.
Renowned for her leadership, Jennifer Compton is Chair of Shumaker’s Management Committee and Sarasota Managing Partner. Focused on employment law counseling and litigation, Jennifer has a wealth of experience, which she attributes to the variety of clients she guides through the changes in law, the economy, and the world. In addition to Jennifer’s exceptional legal acumen, she is a pillar of the Sarasota community, where she is a founding member of the Sarasota Bayfront Planning Organization and Chair of The Bay Park Conservancy Board—a project seen by many as the single largest undertaking to impact the Sarasota community in the next 50 to 100 years. In addition, Jennifer is a founding director and Vice Chair of Gulfside Bank, Sarasota’s only locally owned community bank.
A leader in Shumaker and the community, Michele Leo Hintson is Shumaker’s Litigation and Disputes Regional Service Line Leader. Michele is a seasoned business litigator and Florida Supreme Court Certified Circuit Court Mediator who dedicates her practice to representing individuals and a variety of businesses. She has established a record for successfully handling a wide variety of commercial disputes to their conclusion. In addition to her legal practice, Michele is Chair of the Pasco Economic Development Council Board of Directors, where she is leading the organization towards continued success.
Instrumental in shaping positive legal outcomes for her clients, Meghan Serrano is a Partner and Litigation and Disputes Regional Service Line Leader and Financial Institutions and Insurance Business Sector Co-Chair for Shumaker. Board Certified in Business Litigation by The Florida Bar, Meghan is considered an expert in her field, practicing in all phases of civil and business litigation, including trial and appellate proceedings.
