TAMPA, FL — Shumaker Partner Michele Leo Hintson will complete her tenure on the Executive Committee of the Pasco Economic Development Council (Pasco EDC) at the end of this year as Past Chair. Michele, who is the Immediate Past Chair, has served on the Executive Committee since 2021, following her election as Secretary/Treasurer of the Board of Directors.
“I am honored to have had the opportunity to serve on the Pasco EDC Executive Committee and contribute to the growth and development of our community,” said Michele. “As I enter my final year on the committee, I am proud of the work we have accomplished and look forward to seeing Pasco County continue to thrive. It has been a privilege to work alongside such dedicated individuals who are committed to making a positive impact in our region.”
Michele’s dedication to the Pasco EDC began in 2015 when she joined the Board of Directors. From 2015 to 2016, she also served as Vice Chair of the Growth Task Force, showcasing her commitment to fostering economic development in Pasco County. As Chair, Michele focused on increasing membership, having the Pasco EDC membership gain more insight into the legislative and regulatory process and how it affects the community, and ensuring that Pasco’s business community prosper through many Pasco EDC programs, including the Pasco EDC Ready Sites Program, which has been instrumental in attracting new jobs to the Tampa Bay region.

Michele’s impact extends well beyond the Pasco EDC. A proud graduate of the Leadership Pasco Class of 2013, Michele is widely recognized as a trusted and respected leader, both in the community and within Shumaker, where she serves on the firm’s Management Committee.
Michele is a seasoned complex commercial litigator and Florida Supreme Court Certified Mediator who primarily represents real estate developers, owners, contractors, sureties, manufacturers and distributors, and health care-related entities regarding all aspects of the litigation process and pre-suit counseling and negotiation. Her broad range of dispute resolution experience includes regularly handling matters related to real estate and development, commercial construction, government contracts, and other disputes arising from a variety of complex contract matters. In addition, Michele frequently assists clients outside of the courtroom by analyzing risk during contract negotiations or when a potential business conflict first arises. She regularly shares the knowledge and insights she has gained over the course of her career in lectures on construction law and litigation matters.
As Michele concludes her service on the Pasco EDC Executive Committee, her legacy of leadership and dedication to economic growth will continue to influence the community and the firm for years to come.
