Welcoming Excellence: Attorney Virginia C. Dailey Joins Shumaker Tallahassee Office as a Catalyst for Success

TALLAHASSEE, FL – Virginia “Ginny” Dailey, a highly respected lawyer and community advocate with over two decades of experience, has joined Shumaker’s Tallahassee office as a partner in the Litigation and Disputes Service Line. Renowned for her exceptional legal acumen, steadfast ethical standards, and innovative problem-solving abilities, Ginny is widely recognized as one of the most trusted attorneys in her field.

Judges and clients alike value Ginny’s precise legal analysis and strategic approach. Described as “top-notch” and “the best of the best,” she consistently delivers pragmatic and results-driven solutions to complex legal challenges, further solidifying her reputation as a leader in the legal community.

“Ginny’s unparalleled experience, combined with her deep commitment to clients and the community, aligns perfectly with our firm’s mission to provide exceptional legal services and make a positive impact,” said Ron Christaldi, Shumaker Managing Partner of the Tallahassee office.

Ginny’s decision to join Shumaker marks an expansion of the Tallahassee office, as Ginny joins her colleagues at Shumaker Advisors, the firm’s government affairs lobbying arm, who have been a vital presence in the Tallahassee office since its opening in 2019.

Since 2005, Ginny has focused her practice on administrative and regulatory law, significantly influencing Florida’s legal and energy landscapes. Her work includes guiding electric utilities through regulatory and permitting approvals for capital projects, rulemaking, and litigation. Notably, she has played a key role in the certification of nearly every high-voltage transmission line proposed in Florida over the past two decades. Ginny’s experience also extends to procurement matters, where she leverages legal, political, legislative, and public relations tools to deliver comprehensive strategies for her clients.

Ginny began her legal career overseas, representing foreign governments and corporations in high-stakes international litigation and arbitration. From 1999 to 2005, she worked in Washington, D.C. and London, navigating complex international disputes with cultural awareness and innovative conflict resolution strategies. Among her notable achievements, Ginny represented the Government of Ethiopia in disputes involving humanitarian and wartime legal violations, exemplifying her commitment to integrity and professionalism.

In addition to her legal practice, Ginny has served as an Adjunct Professor at Florida State University College of Law, teaching litigation skills and international dispute resolution. She is also a dedicated advocate for the community, providing pro bono legal services and volunteer board service to the Children’s Home Society of Florida for over a decade. Her efforts have included board leadership, adoption case representation, and championing legislative initiatives.

Ginny’s impact extends beyond the courtroom. In 2020, she played a pivotal role in organizing a campaign for a countywide referendum that secured $9 million annually to fund children’s initiatives in Leon County, driving significant improvements in kindergarten readiness rates.

“I am thrilled to join Shumaker and look forward to spending the next chapter of my career with a firm that values collaboration, innovation, and excellence. The supportive culture and dedication to delivering exceptional results for clients make Shumaker the perfect place to grow both personally and professionally,” Ginny said.

Shumaker  and its clients stand to benefit greatly from Ginny’s extensive knowledge, experience, and dedication. Her addition reflects the firm’s continued commitment to delivering exceptional service and fostering meaningful community partnerships.
