Hunter brings deep experience in biochemistry and molecular biology to patent prosecution matters. He holds a doctorate in biomedical sciences and is passionate about guiding clients from early-stage laboratory discoveries to strong, enforceable intellectual property (IP) portfolios.
Drawing on his scientific training, Hunter helps clients protect complex life sciences innovations by drafting and prosecuting patent applications, translating technical research into clear and compelling claims, and working closely with inventors to align IP strategies with business goals. His approach is rooted in a practical understanding of the research process and the commercial realities facing innovators.
Hunter's background includes extensive research experience in molecular biology, biochemistry, gene therapy, pharmacology, and genetics. His graduate research and predoctoral fellowship at the National Institute of Health, which focused on obesity and weight loss, resulted in several high-impact publications and the development of a novel murine obesity model using adeno-associated viruses (AAVs).
Outside the office, Hunter is an avid home cook and bookworm, enjoys white-tailed deer hunting, and values spending time with his wife and their four cats.
