Jonathan W. Masters

Paralegal

Jonathan's practice focuses on matters involving insolvency, bankruptcy, and civil litigation and includes Chapter 11 bankruptcy proceedings and litigation for Chapter 7 trustees, particularly in recovering preferential payments and fraudulent transfers made prior to bankruptcy filings.

Jonathan began his legal career while still in high school and assisted his father, a bankruptcy attorney, by compiling client information for filing schedules. Having worked in the field before the implementation of electronic court filing systems, he gained hands-on experience navigating the complexities of bankruptcy processes. Over the years, Jonathan has collaborated extensively with both consumer bankruptcy attorneys and creditors' rights professionals.

Prior to joining Shumaker, Jonathan served as the Bankruptcy Litigation Manager for Community Choice Financial in Savannah, Georgia, where he honed his skills in managing intricate bankruptcy disputes.

Jonathan enjoys spending time with his wife, children, and their Corgi, Beau. He is an avid fisherman and cherishes building models with his son, combining precision and creativity in both his professional and personal pursuits.
