Donovan Brown

Of Counsel

Donovan has spent his career in government and law and has been active in state and national politics throughout his life. Prior to joining Shumaker, Donovan practiced law for two national law firms, where he focused on regulatory, corporate transactional, and administrative law. Donovan also served as regional counsel for state government relations for a national trade association, where he managed government relations and public affairs in numerous states throughout the Southeastern United States.

Prior to his legal career, Donovan served as special assistant to former Florida Governor Jeb Bush. He also held policy positions in Governor Bush’s Office. In addition, Donovan engaged in governmental affairs, consulting, and corporate business development at a firm he founded.

Donovan has held leadership capacities on various state and industry commissions and boards, including serving as the Chair of the Financial Services Council at the Associated Industries of Florida, and serving as a member of the Florida Automated Vehicles Policy Work Group. He is also an active member of the University of Florida Law Alumni Council and serves on the board of a local charity.
