Scott is a former member of the firm's Management Committee, a past Chair of the firm's Finance Committee, and served as the Regional Service Line Leader for the Corporate, Tax and Transactions Service Line. His principal areas of practice are mergers and acquisitions, domestic and international trade matters, and general corporate and regulatory matters.

Scott has extensive experience in representing domestic and international buyers and sellers in transactions of various structures and transaction values. He also regularly represents privately held issuers in a variety of capital raising projects mainly through the private placement of securities.  Scott also has substantial experience in antitrust regulatory matters, particularly with respect to product distribution matters.

Scott serves as the outside North American general counsel for a publicly held company that is one of the world's leading producers of reinforced polymer technology for use in the mining, energy, and medical products industries. Based in the United Kingdom, but with significant operations in North America, Scott manages the legal operations of the company group, including all matters related to acquisitions and dispositions, commercial transactions, distributor and supply arrangements, financings, real estate, general contracts, litigation, immigration, labor and employment, and intellectual property. Scott's unique position as an "outside" lawyer working on the "inside" has provided him great insight into what types of legal services are most important to a business and how preventative legal measures can be undertaken to protect a business against the unforeseen occurrences, disputes, and difficult situations that all businesses face on a daily basis.
