Dedicated and driven to attain the best results for his clients, Mike is a member of Shumaker’s Litigation and Disputes Service Line, where he engages in matters ranging from construction disputes, complex commercial litigation, and arbitration to contract drafting/negotiations and general litigation. He is licensed in both North and South Carolina, having lived and practiced in both states prior to joining the firm. Recognizing the volatility of complicated commercial matters, Mike is known for providing results and effective solutions to further his client’s success in their respective industries.

During his time at Wake University School of Law and the years following, Mike always sought hands-on experience with all aspects of litigation. From successfully arguing to deny the passage of ordinances before City Councils to drafting North Carolina appellate arguments, Mike’s practical approach to counseling clients has helped a wide variety of business and individuals achieve their goals. To be efficient and effective in driving a case through to resolution, either by settlement or by trial, is Mike’s calling card.

Mike is a member of both the North Carolina and Mecklenburg County Bar Associations. In his free time, you can find him travelling to the South Carolina coast to enjoy the beach, flying to the nearest mountain to ski, or enjoying local football games and trivia with friends.
