Michael D. Marra

Patent Agent

As a patent agent, Mike specializes in preparing and prosecuting patent applications in a wide variety of technology areas, including:

  • Mechanical
  • Aerospace
  • Robotics
  • Control Methods and Systems
  • Electrical/Electronic
  • Autonomous Vehicles and other Vehicle Control Systems
  • Fuel Cells
  • Business Processes
  • Computer Algorithms/Software

In search of more satisfaction in his work, Mike decided to study for the patent bar. He has always had a talent for technical writing and a passion for learning about new technologies; and preparing patent applications allows him to combine these two pursuits. He is licensed to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office in patent cases.

With his education from one of the country’s top engineering colleges, his more than 20 years of experience in vehicle engineering, analysis and software development and his avocations of aviation and building or fixing things, he has background knowledge of most of the inventions even before he begins preparing a patent application.

A devoted father, Mike makes time to support his children’s activities by volunteering to coach or manage their sports teams and build sets for school plays and dances, as well as attending such sports events and theater productions. When he does take some time for himself, he enjoys spending time outdoors either on the lake water skiing or wake surfing, playing golf, or hunting and fishing.
