SARASOTA, FL — Shumaker Associate Hanna M. Lindsay has been appointed to the Sarasota Advisory Board of Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Sun Coast, adding another opportunity to advance her longstanding commitment to mentorship, youth development, and community service.
Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Sun Coast creates and supports mentoring relationships that ignite the power and promise of youth. Through one-to-one mentoring, the organization helps young people build confidence, develop meaningful connections and reach their full potential.
Volunteering and giving back have always been integral parts of Hanna's identity. After volunteering with the Teen Court of Sarasota during middle and high school, Hanna became fascinated by the law and turned that fascination into a career. She now gives back to the same program by serving as a judge.
"Community service has shaped both my personal and professional journey," said Hanna. "My experience with Teen Court showed me early on how meaningful mentorship, accountability and encouragement can be in a young person's life. I am honored to join the Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Sun Coast Sarasota Advisory Board and look forward to supporting its mission to help youth thrive through transformational relationships with caring adult mentors."
Hanna is additionally involved with the Sarasota Bar Association, Sunshine from Darkness, and Big Brothers Big Sisters of America.

A member of Shumaker's Litigation & Disputes Service Line, Hanna focuses her practice on broker-dealer litigation and arbitration. She represents large financial institutions and stockbrokers in Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) arbitrations and in state and federal courts, as well as high-net-worth individuals in securities litigation and matters involving violations of contractual covenants. Hanna's previous litigation experience includes family law, insurance defense and international studies.
