DeLeo Appointed to Community Foundation of Sarasota County Board

SARASOTA, Fla. — Partner and business litigation attorney Daniel J. DeLeo with the full-service business law firm Shumaker, Loop & Kendrick, LLP was recently appointed to the board of the Community Foundation of Sarasota County.

During the nonprofit’s annual meeting, DeLeo was appointed to the board along with Marilyn Thompson and Mary Lou Winnick. DeLeo joins the 20-member board to lend expertise and innovative ideas to further the Foundation’s community impact powered by philanthropy. 

“I really wanted to be a part of the Community Foundation of Sarasota County’s great leadership and innovative education and community initiatives,” said DeLeo. “The organization has a meaningful impact on the community, and I want to work hard to create a meaningful role that allows me to contribute.”

DeLeo, who has been practicing law for 17 years, also serves on the financial advisory committee for the School Board of Sarasota County and as the chair for Citizens for Better Schools. He is a board member for the Economic Development Corporation of Sarasota County and was the past chairman of the Conservation Foundation of the Gulf Coast.
