CHARLESTON, SC – Shumaker, Loop & Kendrick, LLP is pleased to welcome two new partners, Elizabeth “Lisa” Thomas and Callie Campbell Stratos, to the Charleston office, as well as to the office’s all-female Health Care team.

For nearly two decades, Lisa has been advising physician groups, regional and national hospitals, long-term care facilities, diagnostic testing facilities, surgery centers, and medical equipment suppliers. Lisa has experience counseling clients on such diverse matters as fraud and abuse laws, physician recruitment, medical staff matters, enrollment, provider certification, physician self-referral laws, Medicare and Medicaid reimbursement, physician and managed care contracts, hospital-physician alignment strategies, joint ventures, HIPAA privacy laws, and state laws applicable to the operations of health care providers.   

Callie advises health care providers and health care IT companies with respect to numerous corporate and regulatory matters, including employment, physician recruitment, corporate transactions (joint ventures, acquisitions, and other affiliations), state licensure, fraud/abuse laws, and HIPAA compliance. Callie also focuses her practice on data privacy/security, and routinely assists clients with the development and implementation of privacy and information security policies, as well as data breach incident response and mitigation.
