Meghan O. Serrano's Dedication to Boys & Girls Clubs of Sarasota County Earns Her a Fourth Award

SARASOTA, FL – Boys & Girls Clubs of America presented Partner Meghan O. Serrano with the 2020 Southeast Boys & Girls Club Board Member of the Year award during Boys & Girls Clubs of America’s national virtual conference on October 28. This award recognizes her unwavering commitment to youth at the Boys & Girls Clubs of Sarasota County and it is her fourth award recognizing her work for this organization. Other awards received by Meghan include the 2020 Florida Board Member of the Year Award by the Florida Area Council of the Boys & Girls Clubs of America, member of the 2019 Board Team of the Year by the Florida Area Council of the Boys & Girls Clubs of America, and 2017 Board Member of the Year for Sarasota County. Meghan joined the Boys & Girls Clubs of Sarasota County Board of Directors in 2016. She is currently chair-elect, where her dedication to the organization goes far beyond the boardroom through youth mentorship, legal counseling, financial support, and visionary leadership.

Boys & Girls Clubs of Sarasota County has been a leading youth-serving organization in Sarasota County and its surrounding area since 1970, and provides enriching after-school and summer programs to thousands of youth, ages six to 18, in Sarasota, Venice, North Port, and Arcadia. Meghan actively participates in programs that help youth get good grades, become leaders, adopt healthy habits, and plan for success after high school graduation. She has mentored teens who aspire to be lawyers; hosted job-shadow events for youth at Shumaker; connected students to networking opportunities; provided advice and guidance to help teens navigate their pathways to success; and more. She is also a lead champion of programmatic development as demonstrated by her commitment to a task force that is currently analyzing the organization’s opportunities for growth and impact in North Port.

Board certified in business litigation by The Florida Bar, Meghan is considered an expert in her field, focusing her practice on business disputes, representing business owners, employers, and property owners in both state and federal court, at the trial level, and on appeal.
