Prominent Bankruptcy Lawyer Steve Berman Joins American Arbitration Association Consumer Panel

TAMPA, FL – Highly regarded bankruptcy lawyer Steve Berman has been appointed as an active member of the American Arbitration Association (AAA) Consumer Panel, distinguishing him as an accomplished attorney with exceptional subject-matter expertise, who has met the stringent standards of ethics and experience required by any member serving on the AAA.

The AAA is a nonprofit organization in the field of alternative dispute resolution, providing services to individuals and organizations who wish to resolve conflicts out of court, and one of several arbitration organizations that administers arbitration proceedings. The AAA aims to move cases through arbitration or mediation in a fair and impartial manner until completion.

“I am honored to have been appointed and look forward to spending a portion of my practice assisting parties in resolving their disputes,” said Steve. “I think the lessons learned over three decades as a commercial litigator will assist me in this additional role.”

Clients and colleagues alike turn to Steve when a bankruptcy case is not likely to settle. A seasoned trial lawyer, he is widely recognized for his solutions-oriented approach, which involves working closely with clients to first see the end result and then, map out a plan to get there. He focuses his practice on business bankruptcy litigation, representing creditors, investors, distressed debt lenders, trustees, committees, and business entities litigating disputes in bankruptcy court.

Steve is board certified by the American Board of Certification in both creditors' rights law and business bankruptcy law and is a member of the Florida, California, District of Columbia, New York, and Puerto Rico (federal) bars. He serves on the Board of Directors for the American Bankruptcy Institute and the American Board of Certification. He works on several committees and task forces and routinely volunteers and speaks at seminars. Additionally, he serves as the judge advocate and parliamentarian to the Coronado Yacht Club in Coronado, California, and volunteers in providing pro bono bankruptcy and insolvency services and training for United States Navy service members, including Judge Advocate General officers and staff.
