CHARLOTTE, NC - Patrick B. Horne, Partner and Intellectual Property and Technology Regional Service Line Leader received the Certified Licensing Professional (CLP) designation. He joins a select group of Intellectual Property (IP) professionals that has demonstrated dedication to higher standards of practice in the licensing industry. In the Carolinas, Patrick shares the designation with only 15 CLP certification holders and is the sole lawyer in private practice with the designation.

The CLP designation distinguishes those who have demonstrated their experience, proficiency, knowledge, and exposure to licensing and the commercialization of IP. The CLP program was created to recognize the licensing professional's experience and qualifications, as well as their education and professional development, and focuses on internationally applicable standards of practice, ethics, and excellence to differentiate licensing professionals who have taken the steps necessary to become certified.

Patrick is a registered patent attorney with more than 15 years of experience building and enforcing patent and trademark portfolios. Patrick assists clients in the negotiation of a wide variety of license, procurement, purchase, maintenance, software, information technology, software-as-a-service (SAAS), cloud computing, and other agreements.
