TAMPA, FL – Shumaker Advisors Florida, LLC is proud to announce Sandra “Sandy” Murman, Principal and former Hillsborough County Commissioner, was recognized today, March 8, 2022, with the “Working Women of Tampa Bay 2022 Leadership Award.”

On International Women’s Day, Murman received the award at the annual Working Women of Tampa Bay luncheon at the Rusty Pelican. The organization is one of the fastest growing women’s networking groups in Florida, focused on bringing entrepreneurial women together to educate, motivate, and inspire women professionals.

“It is a true honor and joy to receive this award,” Sandy Murman said. “I believe in the immense ability of women to help shape our world. By learning from each other and working together, we will make an even greater impact on our communities. The future for women is brighter than ever before.”

During her nearly five decades of public service, Sandy served as both a member and Chair of the Hillsborough County Commission from 2010 to 2020. She was also a member of the Florida House of Representatives for eight years and was the first Republican woman to hold the position of Speaker Pro-Tempore. Sandy has been directly involved in more than 30 organizations that support our community and enhance the lives of children and families. Prior to her time in Tallahassee, she had a successful career in business as a manager and sales representative for Top 500 Companies. Sandy joined Shumaker Advisors Florida as Principal in March 2021.

“Sandy has served as a role model for so many women in our community,” added Shumaker Advisors Florida President and CEO Ron Christaldi. “There is no one more deserving of this award. She has achieved great success and made an enormous impact in Tampa Bay, while also inspiring and encouraging other women to follow in her footsteps.”
