Amy J. Schaffer

Paralegal

An Advanced Certified Paralegal in Civil Litigation and a Florida Registered Paralegal, Amy has extensive experience working in civil litigation. She has previous experience in the areas of personal injury, wrongful death, health law, product liability, and antitrust law.

With extensive trial experience, Amy has assisted with over 100 trials in her more than 40 years as a paralegal. She has participated in trials in many of the 67 counties in Florida and the Middle District of Florida. Amy has also worked on appeals for the Second District Court of Appeal and the Eleventh Circuit.

Amy started her paralegal career as a law librarian, working for a local firm and for the Sarasota County Law Library. She has been associated with both defense and plaintiff firms over the course of her career. She excels in the research, writing, and investigative work necessary in litigation cases.

Amy has lived in Sarasota most of her life and participates in many social and professional organizations within the county and state. She is devoted to eldercare financial issues, often volunteering to handle routine financial duties for elderly neighbors, checking on them, and being a friend. She enjoys spending time with her sisters and animals on the family farm in eastern Sarasota, as well as camping, reading, and board games.
