Partner, Health Law National Service Line Leader

Grant is a Board Certified Health Care lawyer with almost 20 years of health law experience. Before joining Shumaker, he served as in-house counsel to a multi-county health care system that included a health plan, four hospitals, pharmacies, two home health agencies, a physician group of 300 doctors, durable medical equipment, labs, and hospice. He most recently served as the system’s Chief Compliance and Privacy Officer. Grant also served as a lawyer for the Florida Agency for Health Care Administration and Florida's Medicaid program. He is certified in Health Care Compliance and Privacy by the Health Care Compliance Association.

Grant's experience includes:

  • Complex litigation and transactions
  • Federal Stark Law and Anti-Kickback Statute compliance, audits, privacy
  • Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) matters, as well as hospital, pharmacy, physician group, and health plan operations
  • Licensure matters, including, but not limited to, hospitals, home health, nursing homes, assisted living facilities, and health care clinics

Grant and his wife, Laura, enjoy reading, traveling, and spending time with friends and their dog, Bunny.
